Substance Vineyard Collection Northridge Merlot 2015
Merlot from Wahluke Slope, Columbia Valley, Washington

Wine Makers Notes:
Merlot to the Max! Super complex, layers of black currant, cherry, pipe tobacco, cedar, saddle leather. Oozing with flavor and personality. This wine expresses so much that words are hard to come by. Find some of your own. Grand.

Robert Parker Review (94):
The 2015 Merlot Northridge Vineyard wafts from the glass with complex aromas of red and black fruit compote, candied peel, tobacco leaf and loamy soil. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and chewy, with a sweet core of fruit that's complemented by plenty of savory complexity and a youthfully firm finish. This will need a few years in the cellar and should be worth following for a decade.

Jeb Dunnuk Review (94):
Mulled spices, ripe black cherries, graphite, and hints of chocolate emerge from the 2015 Merlot Northridge Vineyard. It's medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant and layered, with a seamless texture that continues to gain depth and richness with time in the glass. Brought up in 40% new oak, it's an elegant, gorgeous wine.

Bodega Norton Malbec Reserva 2018
Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina

Wine Makers Notes:
Intense red color with purplish hues. In the nose, it is an expressive wine with ripe black fruits, violets, spices and tobacco. In the mouth, it is wide and fleshy with a lingering finish.

James Suckling Review (92):
Such impressive, pure blackberries and dark plums here with violets and gentle, leafy nuances, too. The round, rich fruit on the palate is really pristine and this offers much now, but more to come. Drink or hold.

Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin Serraboella 2014
Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy

Wine Makers Notes:
Dark, mysterious and inviting. All about allure. Dark spices, menthol, sage, rosemary and dried flowers grace the palate in a dark, sumptuous Barbaresco.

James Suckling Review (92):
The chocolate and hazelnut character to this red makes it complex and enticing considering the difficulty of the vintage. Medium to full body, chewy tannins and a subtle finish. Very well done.
